This is a pre-release version of the MMP for openSUSE 11.4, it contains the necesary codecs and programs to enable all the multimedia support in openSUSE 11.4 during the first days post release, the first version will contains at least 41 programs and codecs and will be available as soon as possible.
This pre release is aimed to be used as a tool during launch parties, install fest etc.. before the first version of the MMP can be released.
The MMP is a group of programs that can be installed in openSUSE without the need of an internet connection, the pack contains all the dependencies and can be downloaded in any PC even if it doesn’t have openSUSE installed.
Esta es una version pre-release del MMP para openSUSE 11.4, contiene los codecs y programas necesarios para habilitar todo el soporte multimedia en openSUSE 11.4 durante los primeros dias post release, la primera version contendra al menos 41 programas y codecs y estara disponible tan pronto como sea posible.
Este pre release esta apuntado a ser usado como herramienta en los launch parties, install fest etc antes que la primera version del MMP este disponible.
El MMP es un paquete de programas que pueden ser instalados en openSUSE sin la necesidad de tener una conexion a internet, el paquete contiene todas las dependencias y puede ser descargado en cualquier PC incluso si esta no tiene openSUSE instalado.

Para instalar el NX server de NoManchine en openSUSE 12.3 debemos primero:
1) Instalar los paquetes en el siguiente orden
$ rpm -i nxclient-3.5.0-7.x86_64.rpm
$ rpm -i nxnode-3.5.0-9.x86_64.rpm
$ rpm -i nxserver-3.5.0-11.x86_64.rpm
2) Editar los siguientes archivos dejando las siguientes opciones a como se muestra a continuación
/usr/NX/etc/node.cfg
SSHAuthorizedKeys = “authorized_keys”
SSHDPort = “2222″
AgentExtraOptions = “-nocomposite –noshpix –norender”
/usr/NX/etc/server.cfg

3) Se checa la opción asignar nombre de host a la IP de bucle en Yast – configuracion de red – Nombre de Host/DNS.
4) Se checa la opción Usar WINS para la resolución de nombre de equipo en Yast – Samba – Identidad.
5) Luego habilitar el repositorio
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/wolfi323:/branches:/KDE:/Qt/openSUSE_12.3/
He instalar el paquete libqt4-x11 de ese repo
6) Abrir puerto TCP 2222 en el firewall y activar he iniciar el servicio ssh en Yast
Listo, con esto ya tenemos configurado el servidor NX para aceptar conexiones remotas a nuesta maquina con el openSUSE 12.3, esto nos permitira incluso reiniciar la maquina y volvernos a conectar para ingresar el usuario y la clave de manera remota.
Los comandos para manejar el servidor NX son:
nxserver --start
nxserver --restart
nxserver --stop
nxserver --status

Primero debemos crear un archivo llamado smbusers en /etc/samba/ la ruta completa quedaria asi /etc/samba/smbusers
este archivo debe contener la siguiente linea
nobody = guest
luego en el archivo smb.conf en la seccion [global] nos aseguramos que esten esta lineas, sino las agregamos
security = user
Map to guest = Bad User
username map = /etc/samba/smbusers
el recurso compartido quedaria de esta forma
[PS2SMB]
comment = PS2 ULE share
read only = no
locking = no
path = /home/easgs/PS2GAMES
guest ok = yes
para crear la carperta PS2GAMES ejecutamos los siguientes comandos en la ubicacion /home/easgs
mkdir -p PS2GAMES/{DVD,CD}
chmod -R 777 PS2GAMES
el primer comando crea dos carpetas mas dentro de PS2GAMES una que se llame DVD que es para los juegos superiores a 700 mb y otra que se llame CD que es para los que sean menores a 700 mb, estas carpeta son necesarias para conectar el Playstation 2 a la computadora de modo que el open ps2 loader pueda acceder a las imagenes iso contenidas en estas, el segundo comando asigna los permisos necesarios para que esto funcione.

Download the rpm installer jre-7u21-linux-x64.rpm from the oracle java site at http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/es/java/javase/downloads/index.html and open a terminal window in the same location as the downloaded rpm file and follow these steps, you can copy and paste the commands directly.
Installing
Run as root

Para montar un recurso compartido en openSUSE 12.3 desde un icono en el escritorio se debe crear un archivo de texto con los siguiente

en la parte que dice URL se deben cambiar usuario01 por el usuario que vayan a utilizar y lo que esta despues del @ con
la ruta al recurso compartido, en este ejemplo linux-aw8a es el nombre de la maquina y Documentos es el recurso compartido, les va a pedir la clave de acceso, luego de eso solo basta con dar doble clic sobre el icono y listo ya tenemos el recurso compartido listo para ser usado.

Usando smb4k en openSUSE 12.3 64 bit sin clave root abril 10, 2013

Smb4k es un programa muy practico al momento de manejar recursos compartidos en maquinas con Windows, esto especialmente porque se pueden hacer bookmarks a las carpetas de red, pero en openSUSE 12.3 64 bit este requiere la contraseña del root para poder montar un recurso compartido lo cual no es deseable, ya que tendríamos que darle esa contraseña al usuario lo cual no es recomendable, en el fórum de opensuse encontré la solución:
Agrege las siguientes lineas al archivo /etc/polkit-default-privs.local
de.berlios.smb4k.mounthelper.mount auth_admin:auth_admin:yes
de.berlios.smb4k.mounthelper.unmount auth_admin:auth_admin:yes
y despues ejecute el siguiente comando para que se instalaran los permisos
/sbin/set_polkit_default_privs
Ahora los usuarios pueden montar los recursos de red sin necesidad de la clave root

This is is the first stable release of Samba 4.0.
This release contains the best of all of Samba's
technology parts, both a file server (that you can reasonably expect
to upgrade existing Samba 3.x releases to) and the AD domain
controller work previously known as 'Samba4'.
Major enhancements in Samba 4.0.0 include:
Active Directory services
=========================
Samba 4.0 supports the server-side of the Active Directory logon
environment used by Windows 2000 and later, so we can do full domain
join and domain logon operations with these clients.
Our Domain Controller (DC) implementation includes our own built-in
LDAP server and Kerberos Key Distribution Center (KDC) as well as the
Samba3-like logon services provided over CIFS. We correctly generate
the infamous Kerberos PAC, and include it with the Kerberos tickets we
issue.
When running an AD DC, you only need to run 'samba' (not smbd/nmbd/winbindd),
as the required services are co-coordinated by this master binary.
The tool to administer the Active Directory services is called 'samba-tool'.
A short guide to setting up Samba 4 as an AD DC can be found on the wiki:

File Services
=============
Samba 4.0.0 ships with two distinct file servers. We now use the
file server from the Samba 3.x series 'smbd' for all file serving by
default.
Samba 4.0 also ships with the 'NTVFS' file server. This file server
is what was used prior to the beta2 release of Samba 4.0, and is
tuned to match the requirements of an AD domain controller. We
continue to support this, not only to provide continuity to
installations that have deployed it as part of an AD DC, but also as a
running example of the NT-FSA architecture we expect to move smbd to in
the longer term.
For pure file server work, the binaries users would expect from that
series (smbd, nmbd, winbindd, smbpasswd) continue to be available.
DNS
===
As DNS is an integral part of Active Directory, we also provide two DNS
solutions, a simple internal DNS server for 'out of the box' configurations
and a more elaborate BIND plugin using the BIND DLZ mechanism in versions
9.8 and 9.9. During the provision, you can select which backend to use.
With the internal backend, your DNS server is good to go.
If you chose the BIND_DLZ backend, a configuration file will be generated
for bind to make it use this plugin, as well as a file explaining how to
set up bind.
NTP
===
To provide accurate timestamps to Windows clients, we integrate with
the NTP project to provide secured NTP replies. To use you need to
start ntpd and configure it with the 'restrict ... ms-sntp' and
ntpsigndsocket options.
Python Scripting Interface
==========================
A new scripting interface has been added to Samba 4, allowing
Python programs to interface to Samba's internals, and many tools and
internal workings of the DC code is now implemented in python.
Known Issues
============
- Replication of DNS data from one AD server to another may not work.
The DNS data used by the internal DNS server and bind9_dlz is stored
in an application partition in our directory. The replication of
this partition is not yet reliable.
- Replication may fail on FreeBSD due to getaddrinfo() rejecting names
containing _. A workaround will be in a future release.
- samba_upgradeprovision should not be run when upgrading to this release
from a recent release. No important database format changes have
been made since alpha16.
- Installation on systems without a system iconv (and developer
headers at compile time) is known to cause errors when dealing with
non-ASCII characters.
- Domain member support in the 'samba' binary is in its infancy, and
is not comparable to the support found in winbindd. As such, do not
use the 'samba' binary (provided for the AD server) on a member
server.
- There is no NetBIOS browsing support (network neighbourhood)
available for the AD domain controller. (Support in nmbd and smbd
for classic domains and member/standalone servers is unchanged).
- Clock Synchronisation is critical. Many 'wrong password' errors are
actually due to Kerberos objecting to a clock skew between client
and server. (The NTP work in the previous alphas are partly to assist
with this problem).
- The DRS replication code may fail. Please contact the team if you
experience issues with DRS replication, as we have fixed many issues
here in response to feedback from our production users.
- Linux inotify will now only be supported on systems where glibc also supports
it (for details, please refer to bug #8850).
Upgrading
=========
Users upgrading from Samba 3.x domain controllers and wanting to use
Samba 4.0 as an AD DC should use the 'samba-tool domain
classicupgrade' command. See the wiki for more details:

Users upgrading from Samba 4.0 alpha and beta releases since alpha15
should run 'samba-tool dbcheck --cross-ncs --fix' before re-starting
Samba. Users upgrading from earlier alpha releases should contact the
team for advice.
Users upgrading an AD DC from any previous release should run
'samba-tool ntacl sysvolreset' to re-sync ACLs on the sysvol share
with those matching the GPOs in LDAP and the defaults from an initial
provision. This will set an underlying POSIX ACL if required (eg not
using the NTVFS file server).
If you used the BIND9_FLATFILE or BIND9_DLZ features,
you'll have to add '-dns' to the 'server services' option,
as the internal dns server (SAMBA_INTERNAL) is the default now.
